I can’t believe we made it an entire year! So much has changed since we first started The Blood Buddies. New logo, updated editing software, a zine, being on a podcast network, and yet we haven’t gotten sick and tired of each other!

For our season finale, we spun on the theme of “Based on Books” so we decided to end it all with 1991’s “The Silence of the Lambs”

The Silence of the Lambs (1991) dir. Jonathan Demme. A young FBI cadet must receive the help of an incarcerated and manipulative cannibal killer to help catch another serial killer, a madman who skins his victims. (source: IMDB)

As mentioned in the episode, this movie does contain scenes and language that is heavily transphobic and have been considered by many to be harmful to the trans community. The Blood Buddies made a conscious decision to refer to the character Buffalo Bill with gender neutral pronouns. We apologize if we accidentally used incorrect pronouns during the recording of this episode. Additionally, we were not too comfortable addressing in depth about the transphobia in this movie, but Brian did read essays and articles from those more educated than them regarding these themes.
